A wall of darkness known as the Void surrounds the world. What lies within is a mystery, save that it is filled with hellish monsters. And, when night falls and darkness creeps into the world, those monsters come with it.
Now, a machine is being built; a massive, armoured steam engine, capable of surviving the dangers of the Void, and a crew of engineers, scientists and soldiers begins preparing for a dangerous journey into the darkness.
But, when an inquisitor of the Church of Luminance is sent to investigate the expedition, he begins to experience strange dreams and whispers. Something is calling to him from beyond the Void.
